Terms of Use

Last updated: June 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using TipLingo (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (the “Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and TipLingo (“TipLingo”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

2. Description of the Service

TipLingo is a travel companion application that provides convenience tools for travelers, including: text and voice translation, tip calculation by country and custom, currency conversion, menu and receipt scanning, a saved phrasebook, a secure travel-document vault, lost-luggage claim organization, and related travel information. Some features are free; some require a paid subscription or one-time credit purchase. We may add, remove, or modify features at any time at our sole discretion.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use TipLingo. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. By using TipLingo you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements and that you are not barred from receiving the Service under the laws of the United States or any other applicable jurisdiction.

4. Your Account

Certain features require you to sign in with a Google account via our authentication partner. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at support@tiplingo.com of any unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that are inactive for an extended period, or that we believe in good faith are being used fraudulently or unlawfully.

5. License to Use TipLingo

Subject to these Terms, TipLingo grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial travel-related use. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by TipLingo. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, or create derivative works from any part of the Service.

6. Informational Use Only — No Professional Advice

TipLingo is a CONVENIENCE TOOL. Translations, AI-generated suggestions, tip recommendations, currency conversions, menu and receipt scans, photo-ID field extractions, boarding-pass scans, insurance scans, and any other AI-derived output are provided for informational purposes only. They are NOT legal, financial, medical, dietary, immigration, customs, tax, accounting, or professional advice of any kind. Output may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. You must independently verify any information you intend to rely on for any travel, payment, identification, dietary, medical, legal, or financial decision.

7. Your Responsibility to Verify

You are solely responsible for verifying — using authoritative primary sources — any of the following before relying on them: bills and receipts, tip calculations, exchange rates and currency conversions, local tipping customs, travel rules and visa requirements, identification documents, passports and passport-validity windows, boarding passes, flight reservations, hotel reservations, rental-car bookings, lounge-access entitlements, insurance coverage, TSA PreCheck® / Global Entry numbers, medical allergens or dietary restrictions detected from menu scans, and any payment information. Always confirm critical details with the issuing airline, hotel, restaurant, bank, government agency, or other authoritative source.

8. Travel Vault — Not Your Sole Backup

The TipLingo Travel Vault is a CONVENIENCE BACKUP and IS NOT your sole or authoritative source of truth for any travel document. You must continue to retain original physical documents (passport, ID cards, boarding passes, insurance certificates, reservation confirmations) and maintain at least one independent backup outside of TipLingo (for example, in your email, in your device’s photo library, in a separate cloud storage account, or in printed form). TipLingo is not liable for any loss, deletion, corruption, inaccessibility, sync failure, or unavailability of vault contents, nor for any consequences (including denied boarding, denied entry, missed travel, financial loss, or detention) arising from a user relying on the Vault as their only copy.

9. AI & Scan Disclaimer

AI-powered features — including but not limited to translation, voice transcription, menu scanning, receipt scanning, photo-ID extraction, boarding-pass extraction, and insurance-document extraction — are performed by third-party AI providers (currently Google Gemini and OpenAI). These models may misread, omit, hallucinate, or incorrectly format extracted fields. We do not guarantee accuracy. You must visually verify every extracted field before saving, sharing, paying, dining, traveling, or otherwise acting on the result. TipLingo is not responsible for incorrect orders, missed allergens, incorrect payment amounts, wrong tip calculations, mis-OCR’d document numbers, or any other downstream consequence of AI output.

10. Subscriptions, Billing & Cancellation

TipLingo Pro is offered as a monthly auto-renewing subscription ($4.99/month) and a yearly auto-renewing subscription ($39.99/year). iOS purchases are billed to your Apple ID and managed through Apple Subscriptions; web purchases are billed through our payment processor. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancel anytime via your Apple ID Settings (iOS) or your account settings (web); cancellation stops future renewals but does not retroactively refund completed billing periods. Refund requests for iOS purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; refund requests for web purchases may be submitted to support@tiplingo.com and are reviewed under applicable law and our payment processor's policies.

11. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to: (a) use TipLingo for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose; (b) impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation; (c) upload, store, or scan identification documents, passports, boarding passes, or any other documents that do not belong to you or that you do not have lawful authority to handle; (d) use the Service to launder funds, commit identity theft, commit tax fraud, evade customs, or facilitate human trafficking or any other crime; (e) bypass, disable, or circumvent any usage limits, paywalls, subscription gates, rate limits, or authentication mechanisms; (f) reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, scrape, crawl, harvest, or otherwise extract source code, models, prompts, or data from the Service; (g) attack, overload, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to TipLingo’s infrastructure or any user’s account; (h) misuse AI features for content unrelated to lawful travel (including but not limited to generating hate speech, sexual content involving minors, harassment, or any content that violates applicable law). We may suspend or terminate access immediately and without notice for any violation.

12. Third-Party Services

TipLingo integrates with third-party services to provide its functionality, including Google (sign-in), Apple (in-app purchase and EULA), RevenueCat (subscription management), Google Gemini (AI translation and document OCR), and OpenAI (voice transcription, text-to-speech, and supplemental translation). Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, accuracy, availability, or content of any third-party service.

13. Intellectual Property

TipLingo and its licensors retain all right, title, and interest in and to the Service, including all software, designs, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, audio, AI model output presented in our product surfaces, and any improvements, modifications, or derivative works thereof. The name TipLingo, the TipLingo logo, and related brand assets are trademarks of TipLingo. You receive no ownership rights by using the Service. You retain ownership of the content you upload (such as vault documents, photos, tip notes, and saved phrases); by uploading you grant us a limited license to store, transmit, display, and process that content solely to provide the Service to you.

14. Service Availability — “AS IS”

The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TipLingo disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, timeliness, reliability, security, freedom from errors or harmful components, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that translations, scans, or any AI output are accurate, complete, fit for any purpose, or appropriate for any specific situation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time without notice.

15. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL TIPLINGO, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, LICENSORS, OR SERVICE PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, BUSINESS, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION: missed flights, denied boarding, denied entry, deportation, customs penalties, incorrect tipping, currency-conversion errors, translation errors, voice-transcription errors, menu-scan or allergen omissions, receipt-scan errors, photo-ID mis-OCR, boarding-pass mis-OCR, insurance mis-OCR, lost or inaccessible Travel Vault contents, lost-luggage outcomes, restaurant or merchant disputes, hotel disputes, transportation disputes, identity theft or fraud by third parties, data loss, service outages, or any decisions you make based on the Service’s output. To the maximum extent permitted by law, TipLingo’s total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of (i) the amount you paid TipLingo in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (ii) twenty-five U.S. dollars (US$25). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TipLingo, its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, licensors, and service providers from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, and fees (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use or misuse of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; (d) your violation of the rights of any third party (including intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights); or (e) any content you upload, scan, store, or transmit through the Service.

17. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if continued provision of the Service to you is no longer commercially reasonable. You may stop using TipLingo at any time and may request account and data deletion by emailing support@tiplingo.com. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6–9 disclaimers, 13 intellectual property, 15 limitation of liability, 16 indemnification, 19 dispute resolution, and 20 arbitration) will survive any termination.

18. Modifications to the Service

TipLingo is under active development. We may add, remove, change, suspend, or discontinue any feature, pricing tier, integration, supported language, AI provider, or other aspect of the Service at any time and without prior notice. We will use reasonable efforts to communicate material changes that affect paid subscribers. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the change.

19. Governing Law & Venue

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them or the Service are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Except for disputes subject to binding arbitration under Section 20, the state and federal courts located in Nevada will have exclusive jurisdiction and venue, and you and TipLingo each consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

20. Dispute Resolution, Arbitration & Class-Action Waiver

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING YOUR RIGHT TO FILE A LAWSUIT IN COURT. (a) Informal Resolution. Before filing a claim, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by emailing support@tiplingo.com with a brief description of the dispute and your contact information; we will attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute within thirty (30) days. (b) Binding Arbitration. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and TipLingo agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively by FINAL AND BINDING INDIVIDUAL ARBITRATION administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small-claims court if your claims qualify. The arbitration will be conducted in the English language and seated in Nevada, or remotely by video when the AAA rules permit. The arbitrator’s decision is final and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction. (c) Class-Action Waiver. YOU AND TIPLINGO EACH WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO ASSERT CLAIMS AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims of multiple persons and may not preside over any form of class proceeding. (d) 30-Day Opt-Out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@tiplingo.com within thirty (30) days of first accepting these Terms with the subject line “Arbitration Opt-Out” and your account email; opting out does not affect any other provision of these Terms. (e) Exceptions. Nothing in this Section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or equitable relief in court to protect intellectual-property rights or to prevent unauthorized access to the Service.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and may also notify you in-app or by email at the address tied to your account. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, your sole remedy is to stop using the Service and, if applicable, cancel your subscription.

22. Miscellaneous

These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy and any in-product terms presented at the point of purchase) constitute the entire agreement between you and TipLingo regarding the Service and supersede all prior understandings. If any provision is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect, and the unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign these Terms freely. There are no third-party beneficiaries. Headings are for convenience only.
